All Dressed Up

What do you like most about Halloween?
The dressing up. It's such a great opportunity to do something that's really fun.

When did you become such a Halloween enthusiast?
Shortly after I started dating my husband, Kyle, he transfered into special effects and started working with these creative people with the most advanced, technological gadgets at their disposal.

How about your costumes?
I've always really loved drawing and working with make-up. So, now that I'm going to Halloween parties with Kyle,it's the perfect opportunity to go crazy with makeup.

Do you go for scary or sexy?
I definitely stay away from the sexy stuff. It's more fun to all out with the makeup that way.

What have been some of your most memorable costumes?
One year, I did full-on cat makeup. I found a dejected cat costume in the sale bin at some costume shop, got a Tina Turner wig and did elaborate makeup. Another year, I went as a harlequin clown, which was really fun.

Do you and your husband ever dress up together?
We've done it twice. ONe year we went as these 14th-century Goth creatures. I did our makeup and just loved it. I did sort of the walking dead look. Kyle goes all out, too. Once he went as Jim Carrey from "The Mask". It was fabulous.

How far in advance do you plan your costumes?
I try to think ahead, but it usually comes down to the last minute. Still, I've managed to pull off - in my opinion - some pretty cool costumes.

Do you know what you're dressing up as this year?
No, I haven't decided yet, but I have some ideas.

Do you usually go to parties or host them?
We usually have some really cool parties to go to. When Kyle was working at the studio, we always had a big Halloween party to go to.
